1932 – Gurtz Electric Co. was established by Frank Louis Gurtz

1958 – Gerald Gurtz took over as President, the second generation of leadership 

1968 – Gurtz Electric Co. became a NECA member

1972 – The company celebrated its 50th anniversary 

1983 – Frank Gurtz started his career with the company as a local 134 union electrician 

1995 – The company moved to its current location in Arlington Heights, IL

2002 – Frank Gurtz was named President, third generation leadership 

2002 – The company celebrated its 70th anniversary 

2011 – The company was awarded its first out-of-state contract in Ohio

2013 – The company was awarded its first out-of-state contract in Iowa 

2016 – The company expanded its Purchasing and Prefab operations to a new building adjacent to the Arlington Heights office

2018 – The company was awarded its first out-of-state contract in Indiana and Wisconsin

2019 – Gurtz Electric Co. opened its first branch outside of Illinois, located in Franksville, Wisconsin

2019 – The company expanded its footprint and built an 10,000 SF Warehouse adjacent to the Arlington Heights office

2020 – Mallory Gurtz was named Chief Operating Officer

2022 – The company was awarded its first out-of-state contract in Michigan

2024 – The company has continued to grow and reached a milestone of over 600 full-time employees
