David Steffenhagen serves as Director of Construction Operations at Gurtz Electric Co., overseeing electrical and low voltage construction operations, preconstruction, and design efforts across the company’s growing portfolio of projects.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, David has led complex projects spanning infrastructure, industrial facilities, sports venues, hospitality, and high-rise multifamily developments. Prior to joining Gurtz Electric, he spent over two decades with McHugh Construction managing large-scale projects throughout the country.

A northern McHenry County native, David earned his degree in Technical Systems Management from the University of Illinois, with a focus on off-road equipment design and construction management. His leadership, operational expertise, and commitment to collaboration play a key role in supporting Gurtz Electric’s continued growth and project excellence.
