Ewa has worked in the electrical industry for 15 years. She transitioned from Accounts Payable clerk, to Payroll Administrator, to Payroll and Accounting Manager to Controller. Ewa oversees weekly payroll spanning multiple states, unions and divisions. She is responsible for accounting processes and ensures compliance with state, federal and union environments. She manages union, financial and insurance audits, prepares monthly/quarterly and year end fillings with state and federal government.
Her goals are to support Gurtz Electric growth by expanding the accounting department, cross training accounting personnel, and by improving the functionality and efficiency of the accounting processes. Ewa is dedicated to continuous improvement and streamlining and automating accounting processes in a responsible manner that does not compromise the security of confidential employee and company information. She believes that effective internal controls are essential to keeping accurate records, ensuring that procedures are followed and inconsistencies resolved in a timely manner.
Ewa has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant with an active CPA license. Ewa is a member of IL CPA society and CFMA.
Ewa enjoys the outdoors and a good book, sometimes both at the same time.
